FAQ: AADSTS50105 – Access Blocked Error

Created by Ankit Khatri, Modified on Tue, 16 Sep at 11:46 AM by Ankit Khatri

Q1: What does "AADSTS50105" mean?

  • This error occurs when your account is not assigned access to an app. Example:
"AADSTS50105: The signed-in user is blocked because they are not a direct member of a group with access, nor had access directly assigned by an administrator."

Q2: How do I fix this?

  • Contact your Administrator: Ask them to grant you access by either adding you to a group with access or assigning you directly to the application.

Q3: What should the Administrator do?

  1. Log into the Admin Portal: The administrator should log into the Azure Active Directory (AAD) or the appropriate Identity Management platform.

  2. Navigate to Enterprise Applications: Go to the Enterprise Applications section and find the application.

  3. Assign Users or Groups: The administrator needs to assign users or groups that should have access. This can be done by:

    • Adding the user directly to the application.

    • Or adding the user to a group that has been granted access to the application.

  4. Save Changes and Verify: Once access is assigned, the user should be able to sign in.

Q4: What if the issue persists?

  • Clear Cache: Try clearing your browser cache or use a different browser.

  • Verify Access: Ensure the correct permissions are set, or contact IT support if unresolved.
